Redlake Junction Railroad Signal Aspects

East Diehl City Crossover Signal Scenario

East Diehl City is the most complicated signaling on The Redlake Junction Railroad. Below are the signal indications for a train taking the crossover from Main 1 to Main 2. The trains first signal aspect is ADVANCED APPROACH. This tells the engineer that he will be taking the diverging route at the next signal. The turnouts for the crossover at East Diehl City are good for a speed of 50 MPH. The speed restriction for the turnout only applies when it is lined for the diverging route or curved part of the turnout. The next signal the engineer sees is the triple headed signal displaying DIVERGING CLEAR. The top head of this signal is red because we will not go to Main 1. The middle head is green because we are going to Main 2. The bottom head is red because we are not going to the Cureton Cutoff.

East Diehl City Cureton Cutoff Signal Scenario

Below are the signal indications for a train taking the Cureton Cutoff from Main 1. The trains first signal aspect is APPROACH MEDIUM. Again just like above the speed restriction for the turnout only applies when it is lined for the diverging route or curved part of the turnout. The next signal the engineer sees is the triple headed signal displaying DIVERGING CLEAR. The top head of this signal is red because we will not go to Main 1. The middle head is Red because we are Not going to Main 2. The bottom head is green because we are going to the Cureton Cutoff.
